Today as usual I went over to the hotel to work on some of my winter projects, and you could tell that the weather was about to change. The wind must have been gusting at nearly 60 to 70 mph at times, and even when the temps are as high as 30 degrees like today, the wind makes it seem much colder.
I have a huge maintenance list for the winter to go along with my own list of winter projects. Most of the list that was made for me is tedious small work some of which can be pretty time consuming. My own list includes putting the plumbing back together. You may wonder why the plumbing is apart. Well in the fall we drain down the entire hotel and the two dorms for winter, otherwise it would all freeze up and pipes would break all over the place. We pull apart low spots that hold water or they would break even though the water has been drained from the main valves. There are so many places we pull apart that I could fill a large book and still have room for a sequel.
It just started snowing so the obvious thing to do was cook lamb saag from scratch, with homemade naan bread and basmati rice.
