Today we went over to walk the property and check for exterior damage from the relentless wind that has been hammering the hotel. Aside from a few blown open screen doors everything was fine. Steve Lautenbach (a previous winter caretaker) once told me that in heavy winds one winter, part of the roof on the Annex started lifting up and it couldn't be fully repaired until spring. So we take walks around the entire property on a regular basis.
Today the snow was like small pebbles, and you absolutely didn't want any exposed skin. That's one lesson that doesn't take long to learn ha ha.
